On the starting grid: ready, set, GO!
There is now one month to go before the "hottest" event of the summer season; for the HUNDREDTH year the city of Monza and its national racetrack will be pervaded by thousands of four-wheel enthusiasts for the traditional Italian Grand Prix.
Held on the first weekend of September, it is a fixed appointment for lovers of the sector and for those who, perhaps, want to spend a few pleasant hours of leisure immersed in the greenery of Brianza and the park of Monza.
This year, the race will be held on 03 September 2023. But the Grand Prix is not just a day: in addition to the "free practice" on Thursday and Friday, the "tests" on Saturday are organized events such as parties, conferences, meetings, gala dinners and excursions that color and flood the city of Monza and the whole Monzese's Brianza (and to a lesser extent those of Lecchese's Brianza) for the whole week before and after.
People of all ages, sexes and nations flock to the city of the Iron Crown coloring it with picturesque and friendly languages: the German language predominates, followed by the french, english, ... even greek is heard in the streets!

By train to the Grand Prix, from Milan to the Autodrome without changes:
Following the natural very strong influx of people towards the racetrack, essentially arriving by train and urban bus, Trenord in agreement with the Lombardia region and with the municipality of Monza organizes, for Sunday 03 September 2023 only, Special shuttle trains that connect Milano Porta Garibaldi with Biassono-Lesmo-Parco (and vice versa)*; the latter station, located on the Monza-Molteno-Oggiono-Lecco line, is the closest station to the entrance to the racetrack, i.e. only 200 meters from the "Lesmo's Gate" entrance; with runs every 30 minutes from 07.00 to 12.47 and runs approximately every 15/30 minutes in the opposite direction, from 16.40 to 19.35; in both directions the trains do not make the intermediate stop in Monza. To access this service it is necessary to have a special "Treno speciale A/R" ticket at the cost of €5.00; to reach the Biassono-Lesmo-Parco station in the days before the race, however, you will need to have a normal STIBM ticket (Mi1-Mi5) at a cost of €3.00 or with the "GP MONZA DAY PASS" season ticket at the cost of €13.00 but not valid for special Sunday trains.

2023 SPECIAL TRAINS timetable from/to the Autodrome |
If, on the other hand, you go on Thursday 31 August, Friday 01 September and/or Saturday 02 September for the "race tests", we invite you to take the trains of the S7 suburban line Milano Porta Garibaldi-Molteno-Lecco (and vice versa), with trains running every 60 minutes from 05.47 to 20.17 to the Biassono-Lesmo-Parco station located in the immediate vicinity of the "Curve di Lesmo" or about 200 meters from Gate D.
We remind you that, on Thursday 31/08, Friday 01/09 and Saturday 02/09, the last train from Biassono to Monza and Milano Porta Garibaldi leaves at 20.09.
* Attention: we inform you that, on Sunday 03 September 2023, following the execution of the special shuttle trains, some train of the suburban service S7 Milano Porta Garibaldi-Molteno-Lecco (and vice versa) will be limited to the Triuggio/Besana-Lecco section, in some hours.
At the racetrack between crowded and "boxed" trains: a solution to the problem
As for the various other events of various nature, also for the Italian Grand Prix a situation of great confusion and crowds is created during the days dedicated to it; enthusiasts who come from and head to Milan fill the trains to/from Biassono until seats are full. While for the outward leg the influx of fans is more diluted, thanks to the "scattered" arrivals, the return leg generates a lot of confusion as the simultaneous end of the races leads all the fans to pour compactly into the small Biassono station: this translates into days of Thursday, Friday and Saturday with long waits for ordinary trains in the Biassono station while, on the day of the race, the special trains from Biassono-Lesmo-Parco are overloaded with people, the ordinary trains from Monza are unusable with cascading delays which continue until the end of the railway service. For this reason we strongly recommend ALSO using the Arcore station located on the Milan-Lecco-Tirano and Milan-Carnate-Bergamo lines, to facilitate the outflow of people; in Arcore you can find trains every 20 minutes for Monza and Milano, as well as trains for Lecco and Bergamo.
