On the starting grid: ready, start, GO!
From 81 years the city of Monza and its national racetrack are pervaded thousands of four-wheel enthusiasts for the traditional Italian Grand Prix.
Coinciding the first weekend of September is a regular event for lovers of the sector and for those who, perhaps, want to spend some pleasant hours of leisure immersed in the green of Brianza and the park of Monza.
This year, the race will be held on 02 September 2018. But the Grand Prix is not just a day: in addition to the "free practice" on Friday and the "tests" on Saturday, events such as parties, conferences, meetings, gala and excursions color and flood the city of Monza and all monzese's Brianza (and in a smaller part those of Lecco) throughout the previous week and the next.
People of all ages, sexes and nations crowd the city of the Iron Crown, coloring it with quaint and friendly idioms: the predominant German language, followed by the French, English, ..., even the Greek is heard in the streets!

By train at the Grand Prix, from Milan to the Autodrome without train changes:
Following the natural influx of people to the racetrack, which is, essentially arriving by train, Trenord in agreement with the Lombardy region and with the municipality of Monza organizes, for the only day of 02 September 2018, special shuttle trains that they connect Milano Centrale station to Biassono-Lesmo-Parco station*, on the Monza-Molteno-Lecco line and the station closest to the entrance to the racetrack, with runs every 30 minutes from 07.30 am to 1.00 pm and runs every 15 minutes approximately reverse direction, from 4.30 pm to 7.15 pm with intermediate stop also in Monza; to access this service you must have the special "A/R Autodromo" ticket at a cost of 5 Euros or the "Trenord Day Pass" at a cost of 13 euros; these trains, of course, are an additional service to all the other "ordinary" trains circulating in Monza station; on the days before and after you can use the ordinary trains that normally travel on this line.

If you go on Friday 31 August and Saturday 01 September for the "race tests", we invite you to use the Suburban S7 Milano Porta Garibaldi-Molteno-Lecco trains, every hour, from 06.00 am to 08.00 pm, always up to the station Biassono-Lesmo-Parco located in the immediate vicinity of the "Lesmos Curves".
Recall that, Friday 31/08 and Saturday 01/09, the last train from Biassono to Monza / Milan Porta Garibaldi leaves at 08.09 pm.
* Attention: we inform you that, on Sunday 02 September 2018, for the implementation of the special trains, the suburban service S7 Milano Porta Garibaldi-Molteno-Lecco (and vice versa) will be limited to the Besana-Lecco section (and vice versa) and in some hours completely suspended.
At the racetrack between crowded and "boxed" trains: a solution to the problem
As for the various other events of various character, even for the Grand Prix there is a situation of great confusion and crowd during the days dedicated to it; the fans who come and go to Milan, fill the trains from/to Biassono up to the saturation of the seats; if the going is more diluted, thanks to the arrivals "scattered", the return generates a lot of confusion, as everyone wants to "go home": normally, this translates into the days of Friday and Saturday with long waits, ordinary trains, in the Biassono station and, on the day of competition, with the special trains from Biassono and Monza overflowing with people, the ordinary trains useless for the same problem and cascading delays that last until the last hours of the day. For this reason, we highly recommend planning your arrival and departure from the station of Lesmo, on the Carnate-Seregno Railway.

At the Autodrome with the Carnate-Seregno Railway: from Malpensa, Orio al Serio and more:
During the whole week of competition, with the exception of Sunday 02 September (day of competition), "our" Carnate - Seregno line will be active, which will allow you to reach the racetrack in a calm and uncrowded manner. The Carnate-Seregno, for those who have never read our blog, is a transversal railway that is part of the east-west route that, starting from Brescia and passing through Bergamo, Carnate, Seregno and Saronno connects Novara, in Piedmont. Thanks to the optimal coincidences to the terminals it is possible with few changes to reach the airports of Bergamo-Orio al Serio and Milan-Malpensa without having to go through Milan. In addition, it is possible to reach places such as Lecco/Tirano, Bergamo and Brescia (from Carnate), Como/Lugano/Bellinzona, Saronno/Varese, Novara/Turin (from Seregno) as well as Milan from both end-users.
But, what is the nearest station to the racetrack? The answer is very simple and the name itself is part of one of the major attractions of the circuit itself, namely Lesmo.
Lesmo station.
On Carnate-Seregno railway line: with one change in Seregno or Carnate, arrive near Race track.
The Lesmo station, located in Via della Stazione, 1 in the center of the country and in rural context is just 2.4 km from the entrance "Piccolo di Biassono" (located near the station of Biassono) then, although not very close, it results be one of the closest stations to the racetrack together with the Biassono-Lesmo-Parco station (210 m).
